Our work is not merely to pass through a country, but to observe it with care, record it with honesty, and leave behind a faithful account for those who may follow.
The Broadbrim Survey Company sends its field parties across plains, forests, foothills, mountain approaches, river valleys, coulees, and dry southern country. Each route is to be marked not only by distance traveled, but by what was learned along the way.
All members of this company are expected to conduct themselves with discipline, humility, and good sense. A careless note may mislead. A wasted provision may cost dearly. A proud tongue may close doors that patience would have opened.

Keep your journal dry, your instruments guarded, your fire watched, and your temper settled.
